Nature of the Practice of the Firm

The firm’s clients include individuals, partnerships, corporations, small businesses, estates, school districts, professionals, municipal corporations, realtors, and religious groups.

Representation of the firm’s clients has involved the firm’s attorneys in litigation and business transactions in a variety of situations, involving all levels of the court systems, both federal and state.

The firm presently represents the Lansing Housing Commission and the Lansing School District, and the firm has done defense work for Ford Motor Company and Prudential Insurance Company.

Over the years, the firm has been able to maintain a general practice and is equipped to handle most legal disputes. However, most of the firm’s legal work in recent years falls within the areas hereinafter described.

Business Association and Corporation
Our clients include sole proprietors, partnerships and professional corporations. We handle corporate matters such as drafting contracts, perfecting security interests and real estate transactions.

Domestic Relations
The firm is strong in the field of domestic relations and we offer lawyers with a high degree of expertise in this area. The firm has handled hundreds of cases since its inception in this area. The firm’s expertise in the area is without question.

Criminal Law
Our firm has lawyers with major trial experience in this area. The firm has handled over five hundred criminal trials since its inception involving a variety of matters, from murder to disorderly conduct.

Estate and Probate Laws
The firm provides a full service in the area of estate and probate matters including:

• Drafting of wills, trusts, Power of Attorney, Power of Appointment, and all other estate planning and
  related matters
• Federal estate, gift and income, and Michigan inheritance problems, including probating wills and estates

Labor and Employment Laws
Dunnings Law Firm provides services in all areas of employment law. We handle grievances, arbitrations, and matters involving civil rights, wages and hours, and all litigation involving such. The firm is especially equipped to counsel
and advise clients in the area of wrongful discharge and employment discharge, as well as personnel policies and practices. We handle both employer and employee disputes and related litigation. We have experience in both federal and state courts.

Litigation
All lawyers at Dunnings Law Firm are experienced in litigation where they are engaged frequently in litigation in both federal and state courts. The firm recognizes that litigation should be a matter of last resort and makes every effort to resolve matters without trial when such is beneficial to the interests of the client.

Real Estate
All the lawyers at Dunnings Law Firm have experience in real estate matters. Our advice is frequently requested on matters pertaining to real estate acquisition, obtaining financing, management and sale of real estate.

The firm represents the Lansing Housing Commission, which requires our advice and counsel on diverse real estate matters.

Landlord / Tenant
Throughout the course of the existence of the Dunnings Law Firm, the firm has been continuously involved in landlord/tenant law. As counsel for the Lansing Housing Commission, the firm often handles as many as sixty eviction or summary proceedings cases per month.

Personal Injury and Product Liability
The firm is well experienced in the area of personal injury. All our lawyers have experience in this, having handled over one thousand such cases over the years. The firm handles mostly plaintiff cases, but has on occasion handled a defense case for a defendant, such as Ford Motor Company.
